|I am Rev. Dr. Joseph Coleman, Sr. I am the Pastor of Buena Vista Baptist Church
and have been for 30 years. First Lady Diane Chapman Coleman is my Queen, and
the love of and my partner in life. We have two handsome sons, Joseph Jr. and
Derek Coleman, one Daughter-in-law, Kawandice and 7 grand-children.
The privilege of pastoring comes with a great responsibility – a responsibility to God
the most High. This is a serious charge that God has blessed me and placed upon
my life. Our world is in high crisis, but God has placed the Church in its midst. We
have access to the thrown; therefore we can stand together and get through the
trials and tribulations in this life. The secret really isn’t hidden. It is stated in the
Word of God. We need to equip ourselves as stated in II Timothy 2:15,
“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be
ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth” and then preach as we are commanded
in Mark 16:15, to “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.”
This will lead to our ministry’s objective as stated in II Corinthians 5:18 “And all
things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given
to us the ministry of reconciliation. We will need to identify our selves as stated in
St. John 13:35, “By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if you have love
one to another;” and finally we Must love one another as in John 13:34, “A new
commandment I give unto you, that ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye
also love one another.”
There is nothing too big for God, and He is always in Control. Our ministries are
simply God’s Ministry assigned. It is NEVER about us but Always about God. My
main question to you is very simple. What do you think about Jesus?
